For authentic European style bread look no further! Passionate about quality and development the baking team produces a range of high quality European style breads. With the use of traditional techniques including hand moulding, the breads have a boutique feel to them and are available only at The Naked Bun on Sundays. With a growing following throughout the Nelson and Golden Bay areas orders are recommended. The range of breads available include the following: POTATO SOURDOUGH Lovely moist open interior with a chewy crust. Undergoes a 4 hour fermentation period and a 2 hour basket prove to develop the flavours. Lovely as an open sandwich or lightly toasted in the morning. A good cheese partner. CIABATTA An Italian style loaf (Ciabatta meaning slipper or sandal). Made with extra virgin olive oil. Sensational toasted or to accompany fish, cheeses and cold meats. CRUSTY FRENCH Made with a fermente starter. Has a subtle flavour. Medium to open cell structure with a beautiful crust. Lovely with cured meats, mixed platters, strong cheeses or on its own. Available as a loaf and as a baguette. SEVEN GRAIN A wholemeal rye blend with seven grains. Wholesome and healthy. Toasts well and great for sandwiches. FOCCACIA A lovely Italian flat bread. Spongy moist inside with a tender crisp crust. Topped with extra virgin olive oil, sea salt and rosemary. Great with oil, olives, mixed platters, cured meats and soups. BAGELS A traditional Jewish styled bagel made from the sponge and dough process and then poached. Has a soft spongy centre and golden crisp crust with a variety of toppings. Very popular toasted with cream cheese or filled with salmon or cold meats and salad.
